About World T.E.A.M. Sports

World T.E.A.M. Sports has long supported active duty and retired military athletes from across North America, Puerto Rico and Europe. Our past military veteran events include our 1998 Vietnam Challenge, our 2009 Coastal Team Challenge, our Sea to Shining Sea cross-country rides in 2010 and 2012, and our 2014 CanAm Veterans’ Challenge. Annually, more than 100 adaptive military veterans have participated each year in our Face of America ride to Gettysburg since 2010. Our organization creates inspiring, inclusive events for both military and civilian athletes, for those who are disabled and able-bodied. In 2009, World T.E.A.M. Sports launched our Military Initiative, a series of challenging outdoor sporting events specifically created for military veterans and active military athletes.

Eligibility

World T.E.A.M. Sports welcomes military veterans and active-duty members to our larger events, such as our annual Face of America bicycle ride, with no restrictions. Other events are more restricted - our Military Initiative events require participants to be either active duty or retired veterans, with or without disabilities. This is also true for our restricted national events such as our Sea to Shining Sea and CanAm Veterans' Challenge rides. Interested athletes submit online applications that include questions regarding their military backgrounds and disabilities, with additional documentation necessary for those who are accepted into the program.
