Adam Such is a Class of 1989 graduate of the United States Military Academy. He received a Bachelor’s of Science in General Engineering with minors in Foreign Area Studies and German and was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Honors Society (top 1% of the class). He was commissioned as an Infantry officer and served in Operation Desert Storm, Desert Shield and Provide Comfort in the Kurdish region of Northeastern Iraq.
Adam was selected to attend Special Forces Training and was the honor graduate from the Special Forces Officer Course in 1995. Adam served as a Special Forces Detachment Commander from 1995 until 1999, Battalion Operations Officer and Deputy J3 during Operation Desert Thunder.
In 1999 Adam was awarded the Olmsted Foundation Scholarship and studied abroad at theUniversity of Ljubljana (Republic of Slovenia) in their native language and received an Executive Master’s Degree, Security Studies in 2001. Adam was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Ljubljana and Special Assistant to the US Ambassador until 2002.
Adam returned to the 5th Special Forces Group and served three tours of duty in Iraq between 2003 and 2006. Adam was injured in a helicopter crash and rescue operation in 2004 during the Fallujah Offensive suffering back and neck injuries as well as a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Despite his injuries Adam was able to return to Iraq on subsequent tours as an Operations Officer and a member of the Joint Staff.
Adam served from 2006 to 2009 in several stateside leadership positions including Battalion Commander of the 4th Battalion 5th Special Forces Group as well as Group Executive Officer and Group Deputy Commanding Officer.
Adam retired from the Army in 2009. He currently lives in Chandler, AZ where he lives with his wife Brooke (Bobbi) and their children.
Adam is currently the Vice President of Military Relations for the University of Phoenix.
Adam continues to serve our veterans by serving as a Committee member of the Congressional Research Advisory Council on Gulf War Illnesses and on the Board of Directors of Healing Towers Alaska.
